Goal
Every Object Tells A Story is collecting an archive of stories on the web about objects that people value.
Whether a grandfather's watch or a quirky pint glass, everyone is invited to contribute stories and read the tales of others.
Every Object is produced by the Victoria & Albert Museum and commissioned by Culture Online.
The Victoria and Albert Museum had identified a key element in the successful development of a community was attracting and retaining new users.
They commissioned Qube to develop content to support them when they first joined up.
Solution
'For new users the prospect of uploading photographs to a website can be quite daunting.
'But if non-technically-proficient users are put off at this stage the site could miss out on many interesting stories. We focused on making the process as accessible as possible.'
Qube created a step-by-step web guide to hold the hand of new users as they upload their stories and pictures for the first time.
We also wrote an easy-to-use training guide for the website moderators who would be interacting with users if there were any issues with their stories.
Results
'The content you created was excellent. The tone and message was spot on and it was key to helping new users get to grips with uploading their stories onto the site.'
